Traditional Tank Style

Go Tankless

On a cold winter day it feels so good to take a hot shower. On a hot summer day it is wonderful to take a nice cool shower to rinse off that sticky feeling. We all depend daily on our water heaters to meet our hot water needs.

At Carey we are here to repair or replace any hot water heating system you may have in your home or business. We can also help you determine which heating system will meet your needs if you are building or remodeling.

With today’s technology, there are several choices and styles of water heating systems. Below is an article that will shed some light on the pros and cons of each system.

Water Heating Basics

Tank Water Heaters

Tank Water Heaters heat and store the heated water in a tank until it is needed. Fuel sources can be propane, natural gas or electricity.

Residential tank water heaters typically store between 20 and 80 gallons of hot water. Replacing a tank water heater with another tank water heater is relatively quick, easy and keeps labor costs to a minimum.

Tankless Water Heating

Tankless water heaters are considered one of today’s best “green” hot water solutions. Because tankless water heaters heat water as needed, no fuel is wasted keeping the water hot. Tankless water heaters also have the capacity to provide more hot water than traditional tank style heaters, when properly sized, so they are great in luxury bathrooms that have several body sprays, showerheads or a deep whirlpool.

About the size of a medicine cabinet, tankless water heaters can easily be wall-mounted indoors and even outdoors, in warmer climates. Because of it’s smaller size, tankless water heaters can be placed close to point of use. This eliminates long waits and wasted water.

Tankless water heaters can be controlled with digital wall-mounted controls or even with a water proof remote. It is easy to adjust the temperature to suit your needs. If you want the water a little hotter for the dishwasher, it is easy using the digital controls.

The convenience and technology does, of course, add to the price tag on this type of water heater over the traditional tank type. At Carey Plumbing & Heating, Inc. we can help a home owner find the product that is best for their needs.
